Time to clean out the closet! Each year we help one of our mission partners with stocking their thrift store(s). This year we are sponsoring items for Alliance for African Assistance, Safari Seconds Thrift Store. Please bring your donations on Sunday, July 26 between 9:00 AM and 12:00 Noon to our lower parking lot (by the preschool).
Desired Donations (but not exclusive):
- Clean Clothing and Linens
- Lamps
- Household Items
- Accessories, shoes, and jewelry
- Furniture
- Toys and Games
- Collectibles
- Kitchenware
List of items NOT accepted:
- Computers and computer-related items (scanners, monitors, printers, etc.) more than five years old
- Stained, torn or damaged items
- Large appliances (washers, dryers, larger microwave ovens, refrigerators, etc.)
- Hazardous Materials
Quality Second Hand Goods Needed and for Sale
The Alliance for African Assistance operates a non-profit Thrift Store which is dedicated to assisting and supporting refugees in meeting their basic needs required to adapt to their new homes. Frequently, many refugees arrive in the United States with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. Our Thrift Store helps to provide a wide selection of free items such as furniture, mattress sets, appliances, clothing, and household items to help as they rebuild and begin their lives in the US. Each year the Thrift Store provides support to approximately 1000 individuals and families.
