An interactive educational presentation sponsored by Care Ministry at The Village Church.
Come spend an hour learning about the most compassionate ways to interact with those who have dementia. Speaker Shannon Brandon will address topics such as:
- Areas of the brain and what they do
- How impairment of those areas impacts behavior
- How to help someone with certain behaviors
- Communicating effectively with someone who has dementia
- Science-backed methods for slowing cognitive decline
Shannon Brandon holds a Bachelor's Degree in Gerontology, and a Master's Degree in Aging Services Management from the University of Southern California. With over 10 years of experience in the field of geriatric care, she has dedicated her career to supporting older adults and their families through every stage of aging. She has served as both an Assisted Living and Memory Care Director, where she oversaw comprehensive care, operations, and family support services. Presently Shannon works as a Conceirge Geriatric Care Manager with Arosa, providing guidance to families navigating complex medical, cognitive, and care needs.
